We want to engage with a mix of management, SHE/HSE, customer engagement teams, but with significant focus on Team leaders, and FCOs (or similar). This is to ensure that we create solutions that are “fit for purpose” for all.

Get involved to ensure that your voice is heard.

The challenge statements we will be exploring during this project include:

  1. How can we set a standard for street works that consider the wide variety of challenges our operatives face?

  2. How can we enable individuals to highlight areas of street works that are poor or challenging to them or those they care for?

  3. How can we increase the usability and stability of temporary kerbside ramps to make them more suitable for cyclists, mobility scooters etc.?

  4. How can we improve the aesthetics of these items to minimise trigger events?

  5. How can we alert visually impaired individuals and other vulnerable users to the presence of street works and how to journey through them?

This project is scheduled to last around 12 months. We would expect that the time inputted from each individual in the workgroup will be about 5-10 hours in total. This may increase / decrease depending on their interest and the amount of insight they wish to provide outside the formalised workshop sessions.
